Welcome to The Gauntlet (Pty) Ltd. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. Please carefully read and abide by the following terms and conditions to ensure a fun and safe experience.

  • Right of admission is reserved.
  • Participation is at your own risk – please follow safety marshal instructions at all times.
  • Kids 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Grip socks are compulsory – no shoes, food, drinks, jewellery, toys, smoking, or alcohol on the course.
  • If you’re pregnant or have medical conditions, please do not participate.
  • Play safely – no rough play, pushing or traumatising others.
  • In emergencies, stop and follow marshal instructions.
  • Any sanitation incident requiring closure will incur an on-the-spot R3 500 fine.
  • Keep your valuables safe – we cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or theft.
  • Event photos may be used for The Gauntlet promotional purposes.
  • Your personal information is handled responsibly under POPIA.

Full Legal Waiver, Terms and Conditions

1. INTRODUCTION

This agreement (“the Agreement”) is entered into between The Gauntlet (Pty) Ltd (“The Gauntlet”) and the undersigned participant. By entering the premises or participating in any activity operated by The Gauntlet, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below.

2. RIGHT OF ADMISSION AND ENTRY AT OWN RISK

  • Right of admission is reserved.
  • The Gauntlet retains the sole discretion to deny or revoke access or participation to any individual for safety or operational reasons.
  • All persons enter and participate entirely at their own risk.
  • The Gauntlet, its owners, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or death, howsoever caused, arising from attendance or participation in any of its activities or use of its facilities.

3. WAIVER REQUIREMENT

  • All participants must complete and sign a waiver before entering or taking part in any activity.
  • Electronic waivers completed via Howler or on-site at The Gauntlet are legally binding and enforceable under South African law.
  • By signing this Agreement, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and voluntarily accept the terms contained herein.

4. AGE AND SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS

  • Participants under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult at all times.
  • Supervising adults must remain on the premises for the duration of the activities.
  • Proof of guardianship or supervisory authority may be requested.
  • Unsupervised minors will not be permitted to participate.

5. HEALTH, WEIGHT AND SAFETY RESTRICTIONS

  • The maximum permitted weight per participant is 110 kg.
  • Participants must disclose any medical condition to staff prior to participation.
  • Persons with any pre-existing medical conditions (including heart conditions, epilepsy, or joint disorders) or who are pregnant may not participate.
  • Participation is prohibited for anyone under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or medication impairing judgement or coordination.
  • Persons exhibiting signs of intoxication may be refused entry or participation.

6. PROHIBITED ITEMS AND CONDUCT

  • Food, drinks, glass, jewellery, or sharp objects (including keys) are not allowed on the course.
  • Grip socks are compulsory — shoes are not permitted on the inflatables.
  • Smoking, alcohol consumption, or illegal substances are strictly prohibited.
  • Reckless or aggressive behaviour (pushing, wrestling, diving) will result in removal without refund.

7. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT AND SAFETY RULES

  • Follow marshal instructions at all times.
  • Only one participant per obstacle at a time unless otherwise instructed.
  • Stop immediately when a whistle or emergency signal is heard.
  • Sanitation incidents that close the course will result in a R3 500 cleaning fine.

8. INDEMNITY AND LIABILITY

  • Participation is voluntary and entirely at your own risk.
  • The Gauntlet and its affiliates shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from attendance or participation.
  • By signing this waiver, you release The Gauntlet from any and all claims of liability.

9. MEDIA CONSENT

  • Event photography and video may be used for marketing and social media purposes.
  • By participating, you grant permission for your image to be used without compensation.

10. POPIA COMPLIANCE

  • Personal data is processed responsibly and only for operational and safety purposes, in accordance with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

11. DECLARATION

  • I have read and understood the Waiver and Terms and Conditions.
  • I am 18 years or older and legally competent to sign.
  • Where applicable, I am the lawful guardian of any minor participant and consent on their behalf.
